Caribbean Union Bank is advising customers that traffic restrictions linked to the Exercise STRONGHOLD security drill will affect access to its St. John’s location on Wednesday, July 8, and Friday, July 10 — and is directing customers to its two other branches during the affected periods.
According to the bank’s customer notice, traffic restrictions will be in effect on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon, and on Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 12 noon, as the national security exercise ahead of CHOGM 2026 restricts vehicular and pedestrian movement through parts of the capital.
Customers requiring in-branch banking services during those periods are encouraged to plan their visits accordingly and use the Starlings Branch at (268) 481-8240 or the Friars Hill Road Branch at (268) 481-8278 as alternatives.
CUB management apologised for any inconvenience and thanked customers for their understanding and cooperation.
The bank joins a growing list of institutions and businesses alerting the public to disruptions this week, including the High Street Magistrates’ Court, the Civil Registry, and the Medical Benefits Scheme — all of which have announced closures or reduced hours as Exercise STRONGHOLD tests the nation’s security readiness across three days ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in November.
