A 34-year-old man from All Saints is in police custody following a series of drug operations carried out across two communities on Friday, which resulted in the seizure of cannabis by the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.
The operations were conducted in the communities of All Saints and Liberta on Friday, May 29, by officers attached to the Narcotics Department, with support from the K-9 Unit.
During the operation in All Saints, a police K-9 alerted officers to the presence of illegal drugs on a property. A subsequent search led to the discovery of approximately one pound of cannabis, which was seized for further investigation.
A male resident of All Saints was also found with 104.1 grams of cannabis in his possession. He was arrested and transported to Police Headquarters, along with the seized substances, pending further investigations.
The suspect faces a charge of unlawful possession of cannabis. No further charges had been announced at the time of this report.
The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda reaffirmed its commitment to disrupting the illegal drug trade, stating that it continues to conduct regular operations aimed at reducing criminal activity and enhancing public safety.
