The National Youth Parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda (NYPAAB) has completed its Back-to-School Raffle initiative, distributing donations and resources to six schools across Antigua and Barbuda.

The give-back campaign, which was launched earlier this year, saw proceeds from the raffle channelled into schools on both islands, with funding directed toward programmes in agriculture, art, sports and homework assistance.

Among the benefiting institutions was Newfield Primary School, where Grade 5 and 6 students received free eye screenings through a partnership with Eye Mobile Vision Care. The school also received sporting equipment sponsored by Faster Freight Antigua.

The initiative extended to Barbuda, where Sir McChesney George Secondary School received a donation of air conditioning units. During the visit, the NYPAAB leadership also held discussions with members of the school's student council.

NYPAAB President Ezekiel Francois, who also serves as founder of the Barbuda Council, led the delegation to the sister isle and coordinated the handover directly with the school's principal.

The raffle itself featured more than 50 prizes contributed by over 70 businesses across the twin-island state. Organisers said half of the proceeds from ticket sales were allocated to the six schools, including two in Barbuda, with the remaining funds supporting the association's wider youth development agenda.

The NYPAAB elected a new executive and slate of parliamentarians in June, and the completion of the raffle initiative marks one of the body's first major outreach efforts under its new leadership.
