Man Knocked Unconscious and Robbed Near West Bus Station After Leaving Casino

Police are investigating a violent early-morning robbery in which a man was struck in the head, lost consciousness, and had an undisclosed sum of money stolen from him near the West Bus Station.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, when the victim was attacked after leaving Paradise Casino. Reports indicate that as he reached the West Bus Station area, an assailant struck him in the head with an object, causing him to lose consciousness.

He was subsequently transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he was treated for a wound to his forehead. His injuries were not life-threatening, but he was kept at the medical facility for observation.

No arrests had been made at the time of publication, and investigations into the robbery are continuing.

The attack is the latest in a series of violent incidents recorded across Antigua and Barbuda in recent days, adding to growing public concern about safety in and around St. John's in the late-night and early-morning hours. Members of the public with information that may assist the investigation are urged to contact the nearest police station or call Crimestoppers anonymously at 800-TIPS (8477).
