The Antigua and Barbuda Swimming Federation has named a nine-member national team to represent the twin-island nation at the 5th PanAm Aquatics Swimming Championships, scheduled for July 8 to 12 in Ibagué, Colombia — with the contingent departing these shores on Friday, July 3.
A Continental Stage for Emerging Aquatic Talent
PanAm Aquatics serves as the governing body for all aquatics disciplines across the Americas. The Championships bring together the best age-group swimmers from across the continent and are widely regarded as a key proving ground for emerging talent and the future of aquatic sports in the region. Qualifying for the event requires swimmers to meet specific performance standards, and all nine members of the Antigua and Barbuda team have done exactly that.
The National Team
The squad is drawn across four age categories. Representing the Girls 13–15 group are Anya DeGannes and Willow Zreibi. In the Boys 13–15 category, Alessandro Bazzoni, Jamie Tranter, and N'Yriq Weste will carry the flag. The Boys 16–18 group features Reuben Edwards, Espriit Shaw, and Jai Sindhi. Tony Goodwin will represent the nation in the Boys 19 and Over category.
The team's management structure features Head Coach Wayne Mitchell, Team Manager Anna Salerno-Mitchell, and Chaperone Daniela Casmiro. Vipers Club swimmer Malique Josephs, competing in the 13–15 age group, will also attend the championships.
