Office Closed

Members of the public seeking in-person assistance from the Ministry of Sports are advised that the ministry's physical offices are temporarily closed, with all staff operating remotely until further notice.

The closure comes at a busy period for sports administration in Antigua and Barbuda, with the national basketball team preparing for its FIBA AmeriCup Pre-Qualifier campaign in Guyana next month, the national under-20 football team gearing up for the CONCACAF U20 Championship in Mexico in late July, and athletes across several disciplines finalising preparations for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in July and August.

The announcement was made in a public notice issued on Tuesday, June 9, by Director of Sports Heather Samuel-Daley. "Please be advised that the Ministry of Sports is currently closed," the notice stated, adding that staff "will be working remotely until further notice."

No reason was provided for the closure, and the ministry did not indicate how long the arrangement is expected to remain in place. Officials said further updates will be provided as information becomes available.

Members of the public with urgent matters are encouraged to contact the ministry by telephone or email while the remote work arrangement remains in effect.

The ministry apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanked the public for its understanding and continued cooperation.
