Seatons Eastsiders announced themselves as a force to be reckoned with in this year's Antigua Generators, Cool & Smooth Village Netball League, cruising to a commanding 53-9 opening-round victory over Pares at the Seatons Sporting Complex on Sunday, following the league's official opening ceremony.

Prince and Lloyd Combine for Dominant Display

The result was never in doubt as Seatons' shooting duo dismantled the Pares defence with clinical efficiency. Goal shoot Shakora Prince was the standout performer, converting 30 of her 46 attempts to lead all scorers on the day. Goal attack Christina Lloyd complemented her perfectly, finding the net on 21 of her 31 attempts. Substitute goal attack Sonya Drew added a neat finishing touch, converting both of her two attempts to complete Seatons' tally.

Pares Struggle to Find Rhythm

Despite the lopsided scoreline, Pares showed flashes of individual quality. Goal attack Andrea Benjamin was their most efficient shooter, converting four of her seven attempts, while goal shoot Annika Watson managed three from nine. Lucian Smith chipped in with two goals from five attempts, but the collective effort was not enough to trouble a well-organised Seatons outfit.

Ten Teams, One Trophy

The league features ten competing teams across its female and mixed divisions: All Saints, Grays Green Flyballers, Newfield, Pares, Potters, Seatons, Swetes/Roman Hill, St John's United Talented Youths, Willikies, and the National Under-16 Netball Team.

Action at the Seatons Sporting Complex continues on June 2, with the National Under-16 Team facing St John's United Talented Youths at 6:00 p.m. and All Saints meeting Grays Green Flyballers at 7:00 p.m. in the female division. The mixed division gets underway at 8:00 p.m. when Willikies take on Potters.
