Tahjaron Davis, the 16-year-old basketball sensation from Grays Farm, put on a jaw-dropping individual performance Wednesday night at the ABBA Division 2 Playoffs, scoring 39 points in a pulsating 91-88 overtime victory that sends his team, the Grays Farm Generals, into the semi-finals.
Davis — who stands at 6ft 2in and has already attracted attention from scouts in the Eastern Caribbean — showed composure beyond his years, hitting the game-tying three-pointer with four seconds left in regulation and then sealing the game with a clutch floater in the extra period.
I just trust my training. When the moment came, I was ready. My teammates gave me the ball and I made the shot. That's what we practice for.

The game was tied 72-72 at the end of the third quarter before the Generals fell behind by eight with three minutes remaining. Davis's individual brilliance — including five consecutive points in the final ninety seconds — kept his team alive and ultimately sealed a famous win.
ABBA officials have suggested that Davis is already on the radar of regional academies as the territory looks to develop young talent capable of competing at CARIFTA and regional FIBA level.
